Meet Anouk

Hi!

Nice that you found your way here. Most people only click this page when they want to know a bit more about who they’ll be working with.

I’m Anouk, also known as Snouk.

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, but teaching became the place where everything I love about voice, structure and people came together.

I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all singing. I do believe that everyone can learn to sing, as long as the approach fits the person, the voice and the goal.

BACKGROUND

I started singing in a children’s choir when I was seven. From that moment on, music was always present. That eventually led me to audition for a conservatory, where I completed my Bachelor in Musical Theater in 2013.

That education shaped how I listen to voices, how I analyze sound and how I think about technique.

Teaching, however, taught me something equally important: progress only happens when someone feels safe, understood and challenged at the right level.

Since 2016, I’ve been running my own teaching practice alongside working for music schools and theater projects. I’ve taught both group and private lessons, with students of many different ages and backgrounds.

HOW I WORK

My lessons combine technical clarity with practical application.

I work with the Universal Voice method because it allows me to explain why something works, not just what to do. The goal is not to depend on me as a teacher, but to learn how to recognise what your voice is doing and how to adjust it independently.

That is also why structure matters to me. Clear goals, clear feedback and enough space to explore without pressure. Everyone works differently, and I adapt my teaching style to the person in front of me, not the other way around.

EXPERIENCE

Over the years, I’ve worked as:

  • a solo singer (with orchestra and band)

  • a recording vocalist

  • a musical theatre performer

  • a private singing teacher

  • a group singing teacher

  • a theatre teacher for children and teens

  • a vocal coach for speakers, actors and voice-over work

This broad experience influences how I teach: technical, musical, practical — but always grounded in real-world use of the voice.

A BIT MORE PERSONAL

Outside of teaching, you’ll usually find me:

  • in the mountains

  • baking (Bread is a recurring theme)

  • walking with my dog Mila

  • or watching a good series after a long day

I work best when there’s space for creativity, clarity, and a bit of healthy chaos. That balance is also something I bring into my lessons.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is another way I tell stories.
My background in theater strongly influences how I look at light, atmosphere and composition.
